Flipside Opera & Art Song Collective, together with The Little Opera Company, are pleased to present Operatifs: A Cabaret Extravaganza on Tuesday, November 22nd. Timed to coincide with the Association for Opera in Canada’s national Opera Summit, these two indie companies are coming together to present some of Winnipeg’s finest emerging artists to a national audience. We invite you to join us for this lighthearted evening of short operas and arias, hosted by Ms. Lara Rae and Flipside’s own Judith Oatway.
This eclectic program will feature everything from Nordic hymns and Swedish pop to classical winter songs and Canadian folk, with music by Argento, Bonds, Britten, Gjeillo, Lightfoot, Powell, Previn, Price, Reimer, Sibelius, Strauss, and more. We’ve brought together 8 exceptional musicians to craft this one-of-a-kind, magical afternoon of winter cozies while you watch the setting sun sparkle on the snowy Assiniboine River.
