On December 1st, 2023, Flipside brought back Opera Idol! This friendly competition for emerging Manitoban artists is the perfect opportunity for the community to come together and hear some of the operatic voices lighting up our province.
Audience members vote for their favourite singers, with input from some experts in the field: this year’s judges were Simeon Rusnak (Classic 107) and Lizzy Hoyt (Manitoba Opera, Brott Opera, and 2018 Opera Idol winner!), and Donna Fletcher (University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, Dry Cold Productions).
Winners receive cash prizes and the opportunity for a future role in a Flipside production.
